Role Type: Full time

About this role and why it’s important

Poppy is on a mission to connect families to their modern village. We’re looking for a Caregiver Acquisition Lead to join our team. As a core member of the team you will be responsible for recruiting and vetting caregiver candidates and setting them up for success as Poppy caregivers. This is one the most critical roles at Poppy and requires an unique blend of interpersonal savvy, analytical orientation and astute people judgement.

Your job will be to find and bring on the talented people that work with families and most importantly, children. You will be responsible for upholding the (very high) bar of what it means to be a Poppy. We’re bringing joy and magic to childcare - that happens first and foremost with our caregivers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and target high quality sources of candidates through online and offline outreach
  • Creatively target new populations of qualified caregivers with appropriate childcare experience
  • Post and manage recruitment ads on relevant recruitment platforms
  • Plan, manage and run recruitment events
  • Work with Operations team to create and hit targets by caregiver segments
  • Manage caregiver recruitment pipeline
  • Assess qualifications efficiently but accurately through in person interviews and reference calls
  • Managing and hiring a growing recruitment team

Our Ideal Candidate has:

Recruitment experience
You have experience sourcing candidates and know what quality looks like recruiting on a large scale - we’re looking to recruit and select hundreds of candidates, eventually across multiple geographies. Ideally you have 5+ years of experience recruiting in different capacities but if not, demonstrated experience in setting and hitting targets in a growth capacity. Ideal candidates will also have childcare experience - whether as a childcare professional (nanny, daycare teacher etc) or as a parent.

Passion for our mission
You understand the pain of finding great childcare, and you’re excited about the potential of creating a community bringing together awesome people with childcare experience and families who need them. You also know what an amazing caregiver looks like, and you know it comes in lots of different shapes and sizes.

Creative problem solving
Scaling our business is not going to happen by thinking inside the box - in order to grow you need to continually come up with new ways to find incredible caregivers. You should enjoy testing and trying out new things! But you should also be hyper-organized. You’re the type of person that keeps and regularly updates a to-do list and a calendar so that you can systematically experiment while keeping the rest of the train running on time.

Strong collaboration skills
We’re a small, driven, and close-knit team. We do a lot of collective brainstorming and sharing of ideas - and expect everyone on the team to be engaged on challenges across the company. Be prepared for lots of points of view on your work and be ready to share critical thinking on other parts of the business.

The ability to connect and build relationships
You’re energized by connecting with new people and will enjoy getting to know new people, learning more about what they are up to and teaching them about Poppy.

Proficiency with and passion for data
Our growth goals are super ambitious and require someone with an analytical approach in order to be strategic and targeted to reach as many great candidates as quickly as possible, as well as use data to identify what segments need to be recruited, in what geography.

An appreciation for start-up life
It’s constant joy, growth and chaos. If you’re looking for a manual on how to do your job, this isn’t right for you. If you want to write the manual for how to make a massive recruiting machine work, this is the right job for you.

Enjoy being the face of Poppy
You will be the first interaction that most caregivers have with Poppy, from in-person interviews to running point on events. You should enjoy being a brand ambassador for Poppy and sharing all the ways we’re changing this industry.
