Our highest priority is ensuring that our families and caregivers get their needs met quickly, effectively, and with joy and empathy. Village Experience & Operations leads the frontline and heart of our business, and is critical to our continued success. We are looking for help across several shifts: early morning, after hours (after 5pm Pacific), and weekends.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Available to work in Seattle - note: most shifts can be done remotely, but we want team members who are able to be in the office with us from time to time
  • Know what it’s like to be a parent and/or as a caregiver (sitter, nanny or mother’s helper) - personal experience is a plus!
  • Naturally patient, compassionate and empathetic - you love helping people
  • Comfortable handling challenging situations over text - you don’t get easily flustered
  • Clear communicator - you’re rarely misunderstood
  • Detail oriented and organized - you dot all your i’s and cross all your t’s, and are able to juggle multiple tasks, projects, and requests concurrently
  • Creative problem solver - you come up with creative and practical solutions to problems you face

What kind of work will you do?

  • Serve as frontline for real time customer inquiries across multiple channels, heavily focused on text/chat
  • Work through creative solutions to effectively answer customer questions, provide guidance, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and route feedback
  • Manage queue of open issues to deliver timely and effective solutions, escalating when necessary
  • Improve our product by communicating bugs and user feedback to our product team
  • Help with family and caregiver retention and contribute recommendations for improving our product and processes
  • Deliver service excellence and *joy* every day

Parents join Poppy and are matched with a team of caregivers that they can book with just a text. We are using data and technology to build the village that every family deserves.

Building a team of trusted, awesome caregivers is our highest priority and our Recruitment Associate is critical to making that magic happen. This is a great entry-level position with tons of potential for upward mobility and the opportunity to learn from an amazing team and manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new candidates: get the word out about Poppy – post ads and manage campaigns on various online channels, support with recruiting events (job fairs, campus events, etc.)
  • Get candidates in and be the face of Poppy: talk to candidates before and after applying, schedule interviews, answer questions about Poppy and the overall process
  • Report on progress: support and compile data about number of applications, how long it takes candidates to get through the hiring process, and where we’re finding our most successful applicants.
  • Build comradery on the team: support with events for existing Poppies to increase retention and attract new team members.
  • Collaborate with operations: understand key supply needs and coordinate recruitment pushes accordingly, provide feedback and ideas for streamlining recruitment operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Childcare experience. You should know and be able to articulate what an awesome nanny or sitter looks like. No one knows caregivers better than those with childcare experience. We’ve found understanding the passion for childcare is a key part of successful recruiting at Poppy.
  • Flexible & passionate about startups and Poppy’s mission. We move fast, seek to learn in everything we do, and things change constantly.
  • Charismatic communication skills. You will be talking to, texting, and emailing people all day long.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed goals. We have ambitious goals and we want someone who is excited by a challenge. Ideally, you can share examples of how you’ve done this in the past.
  • Hyper-organized. You’re the type of person that keeps and regularly updates a to-do list and a calendar.
  • Strong intuition is a must. Within minutes of meeting someone you can get a sense of who they are and have a natural ability to get people to open up.
