Location: Seattle, WA

Poppy, named one of Geekwire’s Seattle 10, is a fast-growing tech startup based in Seattle. Poppy finds and vets the best caregivers in every community. Parents join Poppy and are matched with a team of caregivers when they need them. Poppy is a mission-driven company that is using data and technology to rebuild the village that every family deserves.

Our highest priority is ensuring that our families and caregivers get their needs met quickly, effectively, and with joy and empathy. Village Experience & Operations leads the frontline and heart of our business, and is critical to our continued success. We are looking for help across several shifts: early morning, after hours (after 5pm Pacific), and weekends.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Available to work in Seattle - note: most shifts can be done remotely, but we want team members who are able to be in the office with us from time to time
  • Know what it’s like to be a parent and/or as a caregiver (sitter, nanny or mother’s helper) - personal experience is a plus!
  • Naturally patient, compassionate and empathetic - you love helping people
  • Comfortable handling challenging situations over text - you don’t get easily flustered
  • Clear communicator - you’re rarely misunderstood
  • Detail oriented and organized - you dot all your i’s and cross all your t’s, and are able to juggle multiple tasks, projects, and requests concurrently
  • Creative problem solver - you come up with creative and practical solutions to problems you face

What kind of work will you do?

  • Serve as frontline for real time customer inquiries across multiple channels, heavily focused on text/chat
  • Work through creative solutions to effectively answer customer questions, provide guidance, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and route feedback
  • Manage queue of open issues to deliver timely and effective solutions, escalating when necessary
  • Improve our product by communicating bugs and user feedback to our product team
  • Help with family and caregiver retention and contribute recommendations for improving our product and processes
  • Deliver service excellence and *joy* every day
